Port Orange Presbyterian Preschool is a nurturing and engaging early childhood education center dedicated to fostering a love of learning in young children. We provide a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically.  Families in our community consistently recognize our program for its high-quality teaching staff, whose experience, creativity, and dedication foster meaningful learning experiences every day.  We are seeking a caring, energetic and creative addition to our team.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and the ability to create a positive and engaging environment for children attending our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program.

Key Responsibilities:

‍ • Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities

• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment

• Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development

• Monitor and assess student progress and communicate with parents

• Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness

• Collaborate with staff and participate in team meetings

• Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety regulations

• Complete regular professional development training

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must meet the requirements for a Florida Child Care Staff Credential through the Florida Department of Children and Families to include the completion of the 40-hour DCF Child Care Training.

• Completion of the early literacy courses required to teach VPK.

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

• Must be friendly, and sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.

• CPR/First Aid certification.

• Previous experience working with young children in a classroom.
