Blue Christmas: A Service of Wholeness and Healing
Wednesday, December 17 | TIME: TBD
Port Orange Presbyterian Church | 4662 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL, 32129
The holiday season is often described as joyful, merry, and bright — yet for many, this time of year can also stir up feelings of grief, loneliness, stress, or unresolved pain. At Port Orange Presbyterian Church, we recognize that not everyone enters Christmas with a light heart. For some, the season can feel overwhelming rather than joyful.
Our Blue Christmas Service: A Service of Wholeness and Healing creates sacred space for anyone who finds the holidays difficult. Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one, navigating illness, experiencing financial strain, facing broken relationships, or simply longing for peace, this reflective service offers a place of comfort.
Grounded in scriptures like “Comfort, comfort my people,” says God, the Blue Christmas service embraces quiet reflection, gentle music, meaningful readings, and moments of prayer. It honors the belief that “God with us—Immanuel” meets us tenderly in every season, especially in the hard ones.
Across Presbyterian communities nationwide, Blue Christmas and Longest Night services have become a deeply meaningful response to those experiencing sadness during Advent. Worshipers often find reassurance, hope, and a renewed sense of God’s presence.
At POPC, we invite you to come as you are. There will be time for stillness, candle lighting, prayer, and pastoral care for those who need it.
All are welcome to this peaceful, healing gathering.
